Scotland is one of the best places in the world to explore with a dog. Empty beaches, forest trails, mountain paths and miles of coastline are all on your doorstep — and a campervan means your dog gets a warm, familiar space to sleep, dry off and relax in between adventures. No kennels, no separation anxiety, no missing out.

Travelling by campervan also gives you the freedom to go at your dog’s pace. Stop when they need a stretch, pull over for an unplanned walk, or linger an extra night somewhere they’ve fallen in love with. That’s the whole point of a road trip.

Our Dog-Friendly Vans

Our campervans and motorhomes can be hired as dog-friendly for your trip — just let us know when you book. A cleaning fee applies to cover the extra bit of TLC the van needs afterwards (think muddy paws and sandy blankets), but beyond that, your dog is welcome to travel just like any other member of the crew.

To keep every van comfortable for the next family who hires it, we’d ask that you:

• Bring a travel bed, blanket or crate liner so your dog has their own spot
• Keep dogs off the upholstery where possible, or use a throw to protect it
• Give paws a wipe down before hopping back in after muddy walks or beach visits
• Let us know in advance so we can allocate a dog-friendly van for your dates

A Few Things to Keep in Mind

• Wild camping – always check it’s permitted before you pull up for the night, and follow the Scottish Outdoor Access Code.
• Livestock and wildlife – Scotland’s countryside is full of sheep, deer and ground-nesting birds, so keep dogs on a lead where signs ask you to.
• Ticks and midges – a good check-over after walks in long grass will save you bother down the line.
• Local residents – be considerate when parking overnight near villages and other campervans.
