Finding time to ourselves

‘My holiday at home.’

Its easy to forget how many wonderful locations and amazing sights there are to see on your own doorstep ! I have just  recently returned from a staycation break in Scotland . I wasnt in the mood for travelling far and chose to escape normal working life for an adventure closer to home in a Loch Lomond .

It was just the perfect remedy that I needed – no stressful airport check ins , long distance travel or the cost of currency exchange rates .  During my stay I visited many places and took in lots of beautiful scenery – a visit to Dumbarton , the prestigious Cameron house , the Millenium Forest Trail and even managed to climb a Munro . The local food was delicious and I managed to sample some fresh local fish from Loch Fyne !

 Who doesnt love a holiday?

We decided to do something different and explore the country that we live in.  Living in Glasgow we take a lot for granted, as we are within driving distance to beautiful scenery but never really take the time out to enjoy it.

We decided to travel in style something we had talked about doing for years…..hiring a Campervan!

We found a local family run business called Staycations Scotland and really could not recommend them highly enough.  Their Campervans are brand new, finished to a very high standard, very comfortable and full of everything you could possible ask for.  They gave us lots of hints and tips on planning our journey and recommended places along the way that would could park up and watch the world go by.  7 days just flew in and I cant believe how much we enjoyed touring.  Holidays are all about making memories and this is one holiday that we will never forget.  Thank you for everything Staycations Scotland we will definitely being booking with you again.

Staycation.

I have the fondest memories of being a little girl and getting picked up from school by my gran and granda and taken to all different, exciting and beautiful places all over Scotland. My favourite was Arisaig, we used to play outside all day and my granda would take us to play in the rock pools while my gran made us dinner. When we got back to the caravan it was dinner time and was just such special times spent together. I have been so lucky to now show my children some of the gorgeous places I made memories as a child. I did this with my best friend and her boys, I now just need to show my husband. Hopefully another Staycation Scotland break is on the cards soon.
